Case 33: Managing a Worn and failed Prosthetic design for an All on 6 maxillary prosthesis

Dental implants should always be based on a prosthetic driven approach. Failing to follow that will result in long term prosthetic failures.

Here is a case where we saw an esthetic failure along with prosthetic dislodgement mainly due to the fact that the upper prosthesis was split into two with the first quadrant prosthesis having cantilevering on both mesial and distal with 5 units on just 2 implants.

The new design was given to the patient to be fabricated with a Malo bridge connecting all 6 implants. A milled Ti- frame was used as the base on which PFM crowns were fabricated.
The prosthetic steps are the same as we saw in the previous case. The pictorial sequence of the prosthetic phase in fabrication of all on 6 Malo bridge are as follows.

This case was done by me at Parasu Dental Hospital, Chennai
