Publication 6: Tooth-Implant Connection- A review

 this review throws insights on connecting an implant prosthesis to a tooth. The longevity and the benefits of such connections are reported as a viable option if done correctly.

Case 45: Cementation protocol for an emax- lithium disilicate crowns The chances for dislodgement of an all ceramic especially a glass ceramic is possible when isolation is not maintained during it cementation. Here is a case with a dislodged emax crown which was done somewhere else a year ago. Bonded restorations normally have an excellent durability and longevity if luted following proper cementation protocols. So what do we do to achieve that protocol? Step 1: Isolate the tooth or teeth using a Heavy rubber dam and use of either Brinker clamps or Tie floss can be done to expose the finish line margin. In this case the margini was supra-gingival and hence a tie-floss technique was employed. Step 2: Treating the cementing surface of the crown. Use of ultrasonics to remove any excess cement flecks attached to the crown is removed. Ideally if u have aluminium oxide air blast it can be used once. Case 48: All on 4 Maxillary implants+ Immediate loading+ Defintive Malo bridge Another case of an immediate loading All on 4 maxillary prosthesis and after 6 months went ahead with a malo bridge made of milled Ti frame with PFM crowns. This patient had fixed prosthesis in the upper arch with multiple root caries which required extraction of all the maxillary arch teeth. The patient requested for an immediate denture or fixed prosthesis on the same day of extraction due to esthetic concerns. Phase 1: Involved a diagnostic impression and mounting & articulation along with cast modification in the maxillary arch for the fabrication of an interim immediate acrylic denture. This denture is used as an index and used for splinting the impression and conversion of the provisional denture into a fixed prosthesis. The entire surgery was done under local anesthesia. Publication 5: A Simplified Dual Tray Impression Technique For Anterior Maxillary Flabby Ridge – A Clinical Report Scholars Academic Journal of Biosciences (SAJB) Sch. Acad. J. Biosci., 2015; 3(2B):202-206 Abstract: There are various impression techniques employed for recording a flabby tissue. One of the techniques is the dual tray impression technique. Forces exerted during the act of impression taking can result in distortion of the mobile tissue. Thus design of the custom tray should be such that, the flabby tissues are recorded without being distorted. This clinical report explains a simpler technique for recording an anterior flabby ridge of the maxillary arch with a dual tray design.
