Case 35: All on 4 - Immediate loading dental implants for atrophied mandibular arch
Managing atrophied ridges are always a challenge. Thanks to the introduction of dental implants. The concept of All on 4 dental implants have made immediate loading dental implants a viable option in managing such cases.
Here we have a situation where the patient is totally dis-satisfied with his existing lower dentures due to lack of retention and stability. On examination clinically as well as on CBCT analysis a plan for an All on 4 immediate loading dental implants was planned.
The sequence are as follows:
Treatment planning and choice of implants
Surgical phase: Implant placement- Check OPG- Connect impression copings- Trayless impression
Prosthetic phase: Jaw relation, Jig trial, Try-in. Final prosthesis torque and maxillary denture insertion
Review phase: Night guard insertion and adequate oral hygiene instructions and care for the prosthesis
patient advised to report back for definitive prosthesis after a minimum of 4 months.
