Case 27: Emax Crowns are always the best when you need to match esthetics
Esthetics play a vital role in anterior restorations. This was a case which had a comprehensive treatment plan for restoring few old bridges as well as implant prosthesis. During the phase, the patient came suddenly with a fractured 2.1 tooth as ellis class 2. Initially we advised for a composite restoration as the body shade of the tooth was A3 (Vita pan classic).
However the patient has had past history with dislodgement of composite filling and refused to undergo a restoration with composite resins. Subsequently, I advised an emax full crown owing to replicate the characterisations involved in 1.1
It can be seen that, although the body shade was A3, it had numerous other details which were to be incorporated for an ideal esthetic match. These features were the hypoplastic areas, brown intrisic stain, crack lines and the translucency pattern. In such situations apart from proper photographs, I photoshop the picture to replicate the details present in 1.1
In this case, an MT blank was used with the required shade mapping and other necessary photographs which helped the ceramist achieve the ideal esthetics.
